Alternative 911 Emergency Response Learning Series

Alternative 911 Emergency Response Learning Series

Using Data to Assess and Improve Alternative Emergency Response

Learning series description

How do alternative emergency response teams use data to assess performance and improve implementation?

Across the country, jurisdictions are launching alternative 911 emergency response initiatives. These programs aim to safely triage emergency calls to unarmed responders trained to de-escalate crises and connect residents to community-based resources. Alternative emergency response program leaders can frequently collect and review key metrics – such as call outcomes, referrals to resources, and calls diverted from traditional law enforcement – to evaluate and improve their programs.

On March 12 from 1:30-2:30 p.m. ET, join the GPL for a discussion with two alternative emergency response leaders from our Alternative 911 Emergency Response Implementation Cohort. Learn how they determined which metrics to use for program management, how they communicate performance metrics to different stakeholders, and how they’ve leveraged data to improve program operations.
