The Harvard Kennedy School Government Performance Lab is proud to co-sponsor the Joint Center for Housing Studies of Harvard University's 23rd annual John T. Dunlop Lecture, featuring Dr. Margot Kushel, the Director of the Benioff Homelessness and Housing Initiative at the University of California San Francisco. For over three decades, Dr. Kushel has both cared for people who experience homelessness and studied the causes, consequences, and solutions to homelessness. Register here to attend in person at Piper Auditorium, Gund Hall, Harvard Graduate School of Design; the event will also be livestreamed online (no advance registration necessary).

Dr. Kushel recently led the largest representative study of homelessness in the United States since the mid-1990s. In this lecture, she will discuss insights that have emerged from her work as a physician and researcher, drawing on her research findings to discuss policies, programs, and practices that would help people experiencing homelessness and those who are risk of becoming homeless. Following the lecture, Chris Herbert, the Managing Director at the Joint Center for Housing Studies of Harvard University, will moderate a conversation with Kushel, Peggy Bailey, the Vice President for Housing and Income Security at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, and Dr. Jim O’Connell, the President of the Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program.
