Tracy Pierce

Government Innovation Fellow


Tracy Pierce is a Government Innovation Fellow working with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS). Her work is focused on proactively connecting families at risk of child welfare involvement with supportive services in their community, including basic needs and mental healthcare resources.

 Tracy grew up in Emmett, MI and completed her undergraduate degree at Michigan State University. Upon graduation, she taught high school math in Detroit, MI through the Teach for America program. She also worked to expand educational opportunity as a staff member at Teach for America and the Diploma Equity Project. Prior to joining the GPL, Tracy completed her Master in Public Affairs degree at Princeton University, where she studied domestic social policy. She currently lives in Detroit, MI and enjoys cooking, hosting, traveling, and spending time with her family.
