Tracy Pierce is a Government Innovation Fellow working with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). Her work is focused on reducing future child welfare involvement for families by increasing access to upstream prevention programs and supports. Tracy grew up in Emmett, MI and completed her undergraduate degree at Michigan State University.

Upon graduation, she taught high school math in Detroit through the Teach for America program. She also worked to expand educational opportunity as a Teach for America staff member and college success mentor. Prior to joining the GPL, Tracy completed her Master in Public Affairs degree at Princeton University, where she studied domestic social policy. She currently lives in Detroit, MI and enjoys cooking, hosting, traveling, and spending time with her family.
