Maja Gray

Project Leader

Maja Gray was a Project Leader with the Government Performance Lab, where she focused on creating publications that captured the insights, tools, and practices gained from the GPL’s work with governments and disseminated these best practices. Maja’s career has been focused on public service; she has more than ten years of experience with state government, political campaigns, and climate change consulting.

Prior to joining the GPL, Maja managed the Parks Pass and Reservations programs at the California Department of Parks and Recreation, where she worked to transform and modernize California State Parks’ revenue-generation programs through better use of technology. Previously, Maja also worked with New York State’s Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, where she brought internet connectivity, parking pay stations, and automation technology to New York’s state parks and historic sites. Maja received a Master in Theological Studies in Religion and Politics from Pacific School of Religion, part of the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, CA, and a BA in Government magna cum laude from Smith College. Outside of work, Maja loves choral singing, gardening, and good books.
