Kaitlin Tufts is a Project Leader on the Children and Families team, where she supports the team’s prevention projects, developing and testing approaches that move away from punitive child welfare interventions and increase access to voluntary, community-based supports for families. This has included work with Family Resource Centers in New Hampshire and Cuyahoga County, as well as support to Kentucky’s Community Response pilot that connects families to community resources.
Prior to joining the GPL, Kaitlin worked in child welfare in New York City and New Hampshire, holding direct service positions in case management, family reunification and stabilization, foster home licensing and support, and family therapy. She served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Kingdom of Tonga and worked in international grant-making before beginning her work in child welfare. Kaitlin holds a Master of Social Work from Silberman School of Social Work at CUNY-Hunter College and a BA in Peace and Conflict Studies from Colgate University. She is also a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in the State of Maine, where she resides. In her free time, Kaitlin enjoys getting outside, trying (and promptly abandoning) a variety of artistic endeavors, and playing the role of auntie to many adorable children.
