Catherine Jackson was a Government Innovation Fellow with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). She worked with the Children’s Services Agency on initiatives that strengthen and increase access to upstream prevention programs and supports with the goal of reducing future child welfare involvement for families. Prior to joining the GPL, Catherine worked in Academic Program Operations with the University of Washington’s Continuum College. There she analyzed and re-designed certificate scholarship operations through equity to reduce barriers for underrepresented groups and increase operational efficiency for scaling.  Catherine earned a Master of Public Administration from the University of Washington Evans School of Public Policy & Governance. While completing her degree, she worked with a team of student consultants to conduct a review of Washington State Law for Washington State’s Department of Children, Youth, and Families to identify opportunities for reform to reduce racial disparities in Juvenile Rehabilitation. Catherine holds a BA in Political Science and Economics from Western Washington University.
