Carla was an Innovation Fellow working with the State of Illinois Department of Corrections on parole services. Before working with the GPL, she served with the Congressional Research Service as an Immigration Policy Analyst and prior to that received her Master of Public Policy from the University of California Berkeley Goldman School of Public Policy. Before attending graduate school, Carla worked as a community organizer and program coordinator with a nonprofit in the suburbs of Chicago focusing on migrant rights. She also earned her BS in Social Policy with a minor in Latina and Latino Studies from Northwestern University.
