Avantika was a Government Innovation Fellow in Washington State with the state Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF). She supported the Department to strengthen contracted services at the system and worker level to ensure that families, particularly families of color, are better connected to best fit services. She recently graduated from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs with a Masters in Public Administration-Development Practice where she focused on education policy. Prior to the GPL, Avantika worked for four years with management consulting firms, nonprofits, and international philanthropies in India. As a consultant, she worked with an Indian state government and the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation to design and implement reforms to improve learning outcomes at scale for two million students. She also served as a Teach for India fellow and taught 2nd and 3rd-grade students in a low-income neighborhood. She holds a degree in law from National Law School, Bangalore.
