"Sometimes the best cure for a difficult problem is a fresh set of eyes, and that appears to be what Rhode Island gained in a recent study of how the state can better protect children who are at risk of neglect, abuse, or even death." The GPL worked with the Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth, and Families and the Department of Health to create a plan for reducing child fatalities and near-fatalities due to neglect or maltreatment.
