Overview
Building an effective homeless response system requires a data-driven and outcomes-oriented culture alongside management that can monitor performance and make decisions that improve service delivery.
The GPL trains jurisdictions to equip a broad set of homeless response stakeholders, including people with lived experience, with the tools and skills they need to increase their impact.
We provide coaching and training in data-driven performance management tailored to the specific needs of the homelessness workforce. The goal is to help staff effectively manage programs and equitably improve resident outcomes. When governments invest in building staff skills, homeless response workers have said they feel more appreciated and better equipped to do their jobs, which may contribute to a more skilled and stable workforce.
Through the GPL’s coaching and training programs, staff learn to:
- Identify gaps in services and target interventions for clients.
- Monitor program effectiveness and adopt continuous quality improvement practices.
- Communicate using data with diverse stakeholders.
- Collaboratively use evidence to inform changes to policies and systems to improve performance.
