Jurisdictions looking to plan and launch alternative emergency response programs often do so without a playbook. Through the GPL’s work supporting more than 30 jurisdictions to establish or expand alternative response, we frequently hear questions like, “Where do I start?” and “What steps should I plan for?” The GPL has identified key milestones that jurisdictions typically reach to build the foundations of an alternative response program, such as creating a quality assurance plan, selecting eligible call types and exclusionary criteria, and compiling service referral lists and pathways.

On May 14 from 1:30-2:30 p.m. ET, join the GPL for a discussion with two program leaders from our Alternative 911 Emergency Response Implementation Cohort, who will share their experiences reaching key program milestones. Participants will learn how these leaders prepared to launch and what they’ve learned along the way. The GPL will also release our latest tool – a checklist of key implementation milestones that alternative response program managers can use to guide their work.
