Megan Toohey

Megan Toohey is the Managing Director of Children and Families at the Harvard Kennedy School Government Performance Lab (GPL), where she leads a team supporting state and local governments across the country to prevent unnecessary child protection system involvement and, for kids who are removed from their homes, to keep as many of them as possible with family members. Megan has been with the GPL team since 2016; her previous experience focused on youth behavioral health services. Megan earned her Master of Social Work from Boston College and a BA in Psychology from the University of Notre Dame. She is based in Chicago, where she spends as much time as possible growing vegetables, cooking (mostly vegetables), and keeping her beloved golden retriever from stealing her vegetables.
