Sarah Allin served as an Assistant Director with the Government Performance Lab, where she led the Lab’s workforce development portfolio and supported a broad set of human service agencies to drive sustainable improvements in services to children, families, and individuals. Sarah managed GPL engagements with Florida’s Department of Children and Families, South Carolina’s Department of Health and Human Services, North Carolina’s Department of Commerce, Michigan’s Department of Health and Human Services and Vermont’s Agency for Human Services. Through managing these engagements, Sarah oversaw data-driven efforts to integrate child welfare and behavioral health services for parents to raise treatment rates, expand Medicaid-supported family home visiting to 4,000 mothers and infants, and improve how local workforce areas identify and serve high-need jobseekers.

Prior to joining GPL, Sarah worked on advancing the economic security of vulnerable communities in North Carolina, Arkansas and Mississippi. Sarah earned a BA in Economics and BA in Public Policy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as well as a Master in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School. She lives with her husband, Tom, and daughter, Flora, in Durham, NC.
